Description
The WASAN-OFS-S01 is a rugged strain sensor based on optical Fiber Bragg Grating (FBG) sensing technology. It can achieve temperature compensation with integrated temperature sensing FBG, which makes it qualified for reliable and accurate strain measurement in harsh environments.
With a high-strength steel package this sensor possesses excellent mechanical properties to ensure enhanced fatigue resistance. The WASAN-OFS-S01 includes a second FBG which provides active temperature compensation, which enables absolute and accurate strain measurement. WASAN-series sensors employ the unique optical device packaging method to ensure the long-term sensing stability and the ability to measure both positive and negative strains.
The sensors can be pre-embedded in the pouring concrete structure or installed on the surface of the measured structure by anchor bolt in just a few minutes. Armored cables make both installation and fiber protection fast and easy during concrete pouring and solidification.
The WASAN-OFS-S01 can be used alone or in series as a part of an FBG array. Double ended design and low bending loss support multiplexing of many sensors on one single fiber even if kilometers apart. Installation of such arrays will be more economical and maintainable for large measurement networks.
