Description
The WASAN-OFS-A01 is an anchor force sensor based on optical Fiber Bragg Grating (FBG) sensing technology. The design of WASAN-OFS-A01 is suitable for reliable and accurate strain measurement with full consideration of mechanical and installation characteristics.
With a high-strength steel package this sensor possesses excellent mechanical properties to ensure enhanced fatigue resistance. The WASAN-OFS-A01 includes a second FBG which provides active temperature compensation, which enables absolute and accurate strain measurement. WASAN-series sensors employ the unique optical device packaging method to ensure the long-term sensing stability and the ability to measure both positive and negative strains.
The typical installation of WASAN-OFS-A01 is shown in the following diagram. Armored cables make both installation and fiber protection fast and easy during measurement.
The WASAN-OFS-A01 can be used alone or in series as a part of an FBG array. Double ended design and low bending loss support multiplexing of many sensors on one single fiber even if kilometers apart. Installation of such arrays will be more economical and maintainable for large measurement networks.
